Yes its hot,

The cats cannot understand why they can’t go outside today. It’s not that I don’t trust that they can take care of themselves, it is just that I have taken care to ensure that they can stay cool inside, and sometimes animals need us to take care of them because even though they think they can, they might not always be great at it.

There is a breeze outside but the breeze is about ten degrees hotter (or actually more, I don’t know for sure) than the temp inside the little blue cottage.

I did learn from my mother, all windows and doors are open all night but the coolest comes between 3 and 6 am, at about 7.30 when I felt the temperature start to rise I closed everything up (windows, blinds and curtains). It was around 1 o clock when I picked Sherriff up off what he thought was a cool piece of rock in a lump and brought him inside. He has not left the same corner in my office since then, Sunny is a little enticer, she wants out, but it is too hot for them. I used a cold damp cloth to wet her paws, as long as I stay in with her she is ok.

Yes it is hot but I am taking care of my cats even though they don’t know it.

Climbing down the ladder this morning, (I slept in so it was around nineish) I see out the back window Sunny has a little bit of a trot on…cat trot, they do that a lot here,  I say to myself, self she is up to something.  I got to the bottom of the ladder just as she was coming in the front door with yet again another chippy in her mouth,  (I really wish these chipmunks were a little quicker).  So of course I yell….drop it..she does he gets away hopefully unharmed and only stunned.

After that I walk up the hill to check on the cats in the big house,  on the front steps is this beautiful young new bullfrog.  I know he is new because two weeks ago I accidentally caught a giant tadpole in the watering can when I was watering the tomatos,  plus his skin was very light green…not like old bullfrog skin.   I did spend some time catching tadpoles with my brother when I was a young girl so I know a little bit about frogs, and snakes and such.

The daylilies on the side of the barn are stunning (sadly I don’t have my camera) but hoping to get a pic tomorrow,

What happened next was just regular day stuff cutting grass…sidetracked by the pool occasionally and of course as usual wonderful light show before bed….thanks to my firefly friends….

Just another lovely Saturday

Loving List

My Little Blue Cottage, where I am writing from

Little Blue Cottage

I was sitting on my front step with the kits this morning and I thought about a very dear friend of mine, Jennie (who I am hoping to see this week).  From there I started to think of friends who have come and gone, family I have lost and the ones who are real and still here. I realized it has been over twenty years since I made a “Loving List” I still have that list in the duotang notebook I put it in. But I am thinking it might be time to make a new one. And, just in case you don’t know what a “Loving List” is. Well it is a list of the people you love and who love you and details of each person, birthdays, important moments, pictures and anything else that feels important to document. So I have decided this weekend to start a new list and see where it takes me.

Welcome to my Little Blue blog

Little blue CottageI have blogged for business and I have blogged about things I thought were  important, that is not what this blog is about.  I am here for fun, for now and to talk a little bit about life,  decisions and changing paths
